Chief Executive Officer
David is a founder and CEO of F/m Acceleration. David also co-founded Rowhouse Capital Partners LLC, and Vestmark Advisory Solutions, an award-winning model hub connecting financial advisors to more than 200 investment management firms. Previously, David was Chief Financial Officer of Fortigent LLC, a technology and research platform serving independent financial advisors and regional banks, acquired by LPL Financial in 2012. Before Fortigent, David served as Chief Operating Officer of Nylon Capital, a London-based fund manager. David also was a senior executive of a VC backed technology company that was successfully sold to Cendant Corporation in 2004. David began his career with Ernst & Young, then practiced law with Hogan Lovells (formerly Hogan & Hartson).David earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science from Georgetown University, and a JD (with honors) from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Chief Investment Officer & President
Alex is responsible for the firm’s investment portfolio and operations. Alex co-founded F/m’s predecessor firm, Rowhouse Capital Partners LLC, curating strategy for asset and wealth management firms, and advising emerging managers on going independent. With Rowhouse, Alex and David Littleton co-founded Vestmark Advisory Solutions, an SEC registered advisor empowering $1.4 trillion of AUA to access comprehensive asset management services. Before Rowhouse, Alex led capital markets and corporate development for Fortigent LLC. In prior roles, Alex worked in strategy and transaction consulting for Hitachi and launched a private bank’s family office practice. He started his career in London as an analyst in alternative investments.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University and is an active mentor of start-up businesses. Alex is a founder and board member of Key Bridge Compliance LLC, a compliance consulting firm that currently provides CCO outsourced services and support to more than 40 RIA firms across the US.
Chief Investment Strategist & Head of Distribution
Rick is Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Distribution. As Chief Investment Strategist, Rick advocates for the thought leadership of F/m’s asset management partners, and contributes to the firm’s team process to identify, analyze, and recruit distinctive portfolio managers across asset classes. As Head of Distribution, Rick coordinates efforts to connect F/m manager partners with institutions, advisors, analysts, and investors. Prior to joining F/m, Rick was Co-Chairman of Lake Partners, a nationally recognized alternative investment consulting and portfolio management firm, which he co-founded in 1989.
As a noted speaker and author on diverse financial topics, Rick has been quoted in Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, and the Financial Times, and has appeared on CNBC and Bloomberg. Rick has been a presenter at the MIT Sloan Investment Management Conference, the Yale School of Management, the London Business School, the Morningstar Investment Conference, and at financial industry conferences around the US. As an author, Rick was co-editor of Private Equity and Venture Capital, a reference book used at business schools across the US. Rick is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University.
MATTHEW SWENDIMAN, JD, CFA
Chief Compliance Officer & Chairman
Matt is responsible for the firm’s compliance and governance matters. Matt also serves as CEO of Key Bridge Compliance, LLC, a compliance consultancy serving more than 50 RIA firms across the US. Matt was the founder of Graydon Compliance Solutions, LLC, which Key Bridge Compliance acquired in 2019. Matt previously served as the Chief Administrative Officer for Fifth Third Bank’s institutional investment management business in Cincinnati, OH. He also served as Secretary and Chief Legal Officer to the Fifth Third Funds, a mutual fund trust with 24 series. Matt was an associate in the investment management practice of K&L Gates in Washington, DC. Prior to K&L, Matt served as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for the Phoenix (now Virtus) mutual funds in Hartford, CT. Matt has also acted as counsel to Conseco Capital Management, a multi-billion-dollar institutional investment management firm in Carmel, IN. Matt began his investment management career in 1996 with a predecessor of Citi Fund Services, where he worked in the transfer agent and legal and compliance department.
Matt earned his B.A.in Political Science, as well as his J.D., from The Ohio State University. While in law school, he attended the Oxford University Summer Program, and has also earned his LL.M in Insurance Law from the University of Connecticut. Matt has earned the CFA, CLU and ChFC designations.
